Open Day welcomes prospective studentsThursday 25 June 2015
Prospective students and their families found out what it is like to study and live at Liverpool Hope University, as the first Open Day of 2015 got underway.
There was a bustling atmosphere as people explored Hope Park and the Creative Campus, taking part in guided tours of libraries, accommodation, sports facilities and departments.
Student Ambassador Malika Pache, who led several campus tours, said: “Open Day is a great way for applicants to learn more about Liverpool Hope and gives them the opportunity to ask current students about their university experience.”
One of the highlights was a selfie station, where people could pose for a mock graduation photo wearing a cap and gown, and then tweet their picture with the hashtag #HOPENDAY.
Students considering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Liverpool Hope were able to speak with academics about the range of courses available, and find out more about the work of each department.
Betsan Brown, who travelled from Cardiff for the Open Day, said: “As well as exploring the campus, I was keen to learn more about the courses on offer. I’m hoping to study primary teaching and really enjoyed the talk on special needs education.”
UK Recruitment Manager Dave Sennett added: “Open Day gives prospective applicants the chance to get a feel for Liverpool Hope and see whether it is right for them.
“Reading the prospectus gives a good insight into the University, but coming along to the campus is one of the best ways to find out more. We’ve had a good attendance level from across the UK and Europe, and look forward to welcoming more prospective students to our Open Days later in the year.”
