Pioneering Google technology comes to HopeFriday 13 November 2015
Students will have the opportunity to explore the latest Google Expeditions technology, as Liverpool Hope University helps pioneer a new and exciting education programme.
The new technology uses Google’s low cost approach to virtual reality to turn a smart phone into a virtual reality headset using Google Cardboard.
Google can then take wearers on a virtual tour of a normally inaccessible place like the surface of Mars, the Antarctic and the Amazon rainforest.
Virtual reality promises to be the next ground breaking technology, with products like Facebook's Oculus Rift and Microsoft's Hololens on the cusp of revolutionising the entertainment and design industry.
Google has focused its development on bringing affordable virtual reality experiences within the world of Education, providing students with insight into the working lives of people in a wide range of careers.
The Google Expedition programme will be able to take students on ‘Career Expeditions’ into the lives of Social Workers, Engineers, Television News Anchors and many more.
