Popular music lecturer talks about George Martin’s legacyFriday 11 March 2016
Dr Veronica Skrimsjö, who teaches on Liverpool Hope’s Beatles, Popular Music and Society MA, spoke to media outlets across the UK about the lasting legacy of Beatles producer George Martin.
Dr Skrimsjö said: “There have been lots of different suggestions (for the Fifth Beatle). The key point is how Sir George was able to communicate the Beatles' ideas to audiences. That's where he played the most important role. At times they came in with ideas that were not necessarily coherent or easily understandable; he got what they were after."
Dr Skrimsjö's analysis of George Martin’s work was featured on more than fifteen outlets including the global radio network (Heart FM, Classic FM, LBC), BBC Wales, Radio City Liverpool, The Belfast Telegraph, The Northern Echo and numerous regional newspapers.
