Professor Nick Rees visits partner institution in Mexico CityTuesday 18 October 2016
Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Professor Nick Rees is visiting one of Hope’s partner institutions, PanAmericana University in Mexico City, where he has met with the Rector Dr Santiago Garcia Alvarez and the Vice Rectors and Deans.
The aim of the trip is to agree concrete actions around staff exchange, in areas like law, management, and media and fine arts, as well as to explore possibilities for student exchange, internships and summer courses.
The universities share similar commitments around their mission and values, including around educating the whole person, and ensuring students are prepared for making a broader societal contribution in their lives and careers.
Professor Rees will present to Law and Business School undergraduate students on Brexit and the UK’s future options in Europe, as well as participating in a conference on Understanding Brexit: the UK and the EU, with students on the Masters of Governance and Public Policy.
The visit builds on a previous one by Professor Pillay, Vice Chancellor and Rector of Liverpool Hope University, and Monsignor John Devine (OBE), as well as the recent visit by Dr Garcia and his colleagues to Hope’s summer Graduation ceremonies.
