Students and staff have been raising key issues and sharing their expertise with local, national and international media over the past month.
Professor Pillay spoke to The Independent about Liverpool Hope’s success since it gained university status in 2005.
Social Work students and staff appeared on Granada Reports, in the Liverpool Echo, in the University Newspaper, on Bay TV and Radio City, discussing their convoy to Calais and the collection of supplies for Samos in Greece. MA student Jemma Herbert was interviewed by Radio City. The Granada Reports coverage included a report from the Freshers' Fair and interview with Alison Goudie and Donna Greaves, and a live broadcast from Liverpool Hope which included an interview with Professor Michael Lavalette.
Professor Michael Lavalette wrote a piece for the Times Higher Education on the work that he, his students and other social workers around the country are doing to help the refugees in Calais.
Professor Sir Mark Hedley’s distinguished lecture series was featured in The Times legal bulletin The Brief, which goes out to 50,000 lawyers and judges around the country. Sir Mark was also interviewed and took part in a live phone in on Radio Merseyside.
Professor George Mair gave an expert comment to the Liverpool Echo on the cuts to Merseyside Police.
Professor Simon Piasecki gave an interview to The Times Higher Education where he discussed his role in Shane Meadows’ This is England and his experience as a teacher in both the FE and HE sectors. He also appeared in The Liverpool Echo and The University Newspaper.
Dr Evan Lawrence appeared on BBC World Service Radio 4 late night which is transmitted to every regional station across the UK and on Radio 4.
Dr Mike Brocken appeared on the show Euromaxx on Deutsche Welle TV, where he spoke about John Lennon's 75th birthday.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding between Liverpool Hope and Chestnut Hill College appeared in the IAPCHE newsletter.
MA by Creative Practice students including Gabrielle Caul appeared on Bay TV and in The University Newspaper.
Liverpool Hope University Students' Union were featured on the What Uni website where they explained exactly what SU’s do.
Dr Jane Moore was featured on Postgraduate Search where she discussed the benefits of a teaching qualification.
MA by Creative Practice student Jade Crompton was featured on Postgraduate Search, where she was interviewed about her BA and MA experiences.
Professor Nick Rees was interviewed by Larry Nield on City Talk, and was quoted in the Global Post, discussing President Xi's visit to the UK.
