Students’ creativity sparked by trip to Yorkshire Sculpture ParkTuesday 15 March 2016
A trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park aimed to inspire students from the department of Drama, Dance and Performance Studies, who explored the park’s unique installations.
Dr Silvia Battista, Dr Kris Darby and Dr Annalaura Alifuoco took level I students from Creative and Performing Arts to the Museum of the Year 2014 to witness a retrospective of the artist Bill Viola.
Student Kirstie Massey said: “Yorkshire Sculpture Park has a wide range of stunning views and cultured art.
“We explored the park to see the many sculptures and pieces on display, which in turn developed ideas towards performance and theory work. I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone interested in an art environment experience.”
The sculpture park’s setting aims to encourage the exploration of the relationship between art and nature, by stimulating engagement and adventure in the surroundings.
