Students raise funds for Everton in the CommunityMonday 16 May 2016
Charitable students volunteered to collect donations in celebration of the 28th birthday of Everton in the Community.
The team of 42 took part in a blue bucket collection ahead of the Everton vs Bournemouth football match at Goodison Park.
They helped to raise £1,136.42 and were invited to attend the game as guests of Everton Football Club.
Childhood & Youth and Sport & Physical Education student Jack Dunlop explained how he jumped at the offer to help.
He said: “I wanted to take part in the event due to the fact that, in my training to be a coach, I have worked with under-privileged children around where I live back home. However, when I saw their faces light up after a good training session, it would make me really delighted to see that what I was doing was working.
“So when I was offered the chance to work with Everton in the Community to raise money, I took it like a shot so I could help others be happy and learn on the football field. The best part was seeing how much we raised for the charity, knowing that it would all go to helping the community. Being an avid Liverpool supporter, it was also amazing to see the all the families around the stadium and the fans.”
