Students take part in International Business GameWednesday 27 April 2016
Marketing, Business Management and Accounting students from Liverpool Hope travelled to Belgium and France to take part in an International Business Game.
The five level C students represented Liverpool Hope on two trips in February and March in collaboration with the University of Lille and HoGent.
The simulated business game involved more than 100 students from across Europe and consisted of eight markets with four teams in each market. Liverpool Hope students were split into teams and worked alongside students from Ghent and Lille.
They were presented with different challenges throughout and had to make decisions on accounting, Marketing, HRM and Business Management. They were also given tours of both cities by their host universities.
Between the two trips, students had to work with their European teammates to prepare for the next stage and create a presentation. For the second stage, in Ghent, students had to produce a video and complete their final presentations. A team involving one of the Liverpool Hope students walked away the winner.
Dr Clay Gransden, Lecturer in Marketing said: “The students had a fantastic opportunity to hone their communication skills and get a real flavour of the global business environment, while also experiencing two cultures which were different from their own.”
