THIS Radio starts broadcasting from Creative Campus

Daniel Leung and Jess Glynne (THIS Radio) Friday 12 February 2016

THIS Radio (The Hope Institute of Sound) will start broadcasting live from Liverpool Hope’s Creative Campus every Monday from 15th February.

Students from all subjects are being invited to become part of the station – whether that is on the mic or behind the scenes.

Producers are looking for live performances, broadcast journalists, presenters, reporters and interviewers. Students involved with THIS Radio can opt to use their experience as credit towards the Service and Leadership Award.

THIS radio broadcasts globally online at thisradio.co.uk, through the Smartphone App for Android and iPhone and on 1350am, reaching across the city of Liverpool capturing drive-time and breakfast slots. The station broadcasts a schedule of programmes with university and student community content as well as covering the life of Liverpool.

It broadcasts mainly from its studios in the Media Centre at Hope Park campus, but has the facility for outside broadcast from a variety of locations including the Creative Campus, where it will now be based every Monday.

Daniel Leung, Graduate Assistant for THIS Radio said: “We can’t wait to bring THIS Radio to our Creative Campus every Monday, and showcase the talents of our students to a wide audience. If you have a band and want to perform a set let us know, or if you want to publicise an event, exhibition or performance, tell us! We’re also looking for original radio dramas.

"One of the station's highlights has been interviews with chart-toppers like Bastille, The Hoosiers and Jess Glynne. Being part of the station is a great way to build contacts and recent interviews by present students have included Nina Nesbitt, Eliza and the Bear, as well as running news stories on cyber crime, mental health and local Liverpool stories".

THIS Radio will broadcast live from the Creative Campus in Cap211 every Monday afternoon.
