Tickets on sale for prizewinning play

Playwriting prize winner Monday 5 June 2017

Tickets are now on sale for Omnibus, the winning play from the inaugural Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize.

Katie Mulgrew won the first ever Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize in 2015. Katie won £10,000 and the chance to have her work produced by Liverpool’s Royal Court.

Omnibus is a fast moving farce that starts with three housemates lounging in front of the television on a Sunday afternoon. Their plans for a lazy day are put on hold when a surprise guest bursts in with a gun and a bag full of money.

The Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize is the UK’s second largest playwriting prize after the Bruntwood Prize, and aims to find the next great comedy play.

The Royal Court team have worked with Katie and the Unity Theatre to bring Omnibus to the stage from Wednesday 7th June to Saturday 17th June. The play is directed by Robert Farquar.

Omnibus has received a £14,850 grant from Arts Council England’s Grants For The Arts Programme.

Simon Bradbury was announced as the 2017 competition winner this April, for his play The Last Act of Love of J B Moliere.

Tickets available on the Unity Theatre website
