Top 5 places to chill out on campusMonday 28 September 2015
After a busy weekend of moving in to your new home, we thought we’d pull together a list of the top five places we’d recommend to chill out at Hope Park and Creative Campus:
EDEN garden and Angel Field
Located at the back of the EDEN building, the tranquil EDEN garden is the perfect place to relax either on your own or with your friends. There are plenty of benches available which are surrounded by beautiful flower beds and trees, and there’s also a mini maze!
Over at Creative Campus we have the award-winning Angel Field, a magnificent 21st century Renaissance-style garden, providing a place of beauty and serenity for contemplation and study.
Recently refurbished, the Students' Union is a cool place to chill out with your friends on the comfy sofas. Located in the Lecture Theatre Complex, the SU is handily located next to the Sabbatical Officers' office, so be sure to pop in on your way past to say hi.
Visit the Students' Union website for more details about what’s on offer.
The Chaplaincy and Chapel
The Chapel is at the heart of the University. It is always open, and easy to find - just follow the main corridor of the Gateway Building. It is your space, so come and use it. It is a great place to come for a moment of quiet prayer or come and join others in our daily community prayers. Both the Catholic and Anglican sacraments are reserved in the tabernacle at the heart of this soaring, simple place for the spirit.
Visit the Chaplaincy’s website for more details about their services.
Our Place is the student social space at Hope Park. Located next to Fresh Hope, Our Place includes a restaurant serving hand stretched pizzas made with fresh dough prepared at on site.
A bar and an auditorium perfect for hosting a range of social events, including comedy nights and live music gigs. There are also pool tables and televisions showing the latest fixtures from Sky and BT Sports.
For further details about opening times and menus, visit the Our Place website.
This hidden gem of a room is based in the University’s Creative Campus and is a great place to study in grand settings. Complete with plush carpets and comfy sofas, as well as study areas with a number of PCs for you to use, it’s a great room to study or read.
