University of Utrecht geographers visit Hope
Thursday 7 June 2012
Liverpool Hope’s Geography Department welcomed forty students and three academics from the Department of Human Geography and Planning at the University of Utrecht, Netherlands on Wednesday 6th June.
During the visit, which was facilitated by Dr Janet Speake, the students presented findings from their recent field investigations on regeneration and planning issues in inner-city Liverpool and Manchester.
Research reports covered a range of topical themes, including social cohesion and regeneration in Toxteth and Hulme, neighbourhood visibility of regeneration policy, industrial heritage and urban revitalisation in the Baltic Triangle and Ancoats, and more generally on contrasting city marketing strategies.
