The Institute for Applied Social
Sciences was established in 2007 as an international research and
practice development institute. It is a partnership between Liverpool
Hope University in the UK and Bishop Heber College in Tamil Nadu,
India. The focus of the Institute's work is mainly, but not

December 2008 saw the official launch of the Institute for Research into
Education and Society in Mumbai, India, a collaboration between
Liverpool Hope University and St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. The Indian college has signed a
Memorandum of Understanding with Hope and faculty members from both the
institutes will work on research projects dealing with how education
impacts upon the development of societies.

quality, having secured a maximum excellent rating (24 out of 24) in
