Immigration

In March 2009 the UK government introduced a points-based immigration system for international students coming to study in the UK from outside the European Economic Area.  All international students from outside the European Economic Area are required to have the relevant visa or entry clearance in order to enter the UK.

There are 5 different Tiers within the visa system, but the majority of students coming to the University will need a Tier 4 General Student Visa.   For further information click visit www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/

Liverpool Hope University is an accredited Higher Education Institution and is a Highly Trusted Sponsor with the UK Border Agency.

Please remember that it is your responsibility to apply for and receive your visa in time to start your course. The University recommends that you apply for your visa three months before the start of your course. Visa offices are extremely busy in July and August, and in December and January, so it is important to give yourself plenty of time.
