It is the intention of Liverpool Hope University to support and develop good practice on the part of supervisors of Research circled on the page of a bookPostgraduate research Students of the university. To this end Hope provides two practical ways in which supervisors can enhance their understanding of their role and find support within a peer academic group.

1. Supervisors Forum

This meets three times in the year. It provides a forum for discussion of any issues which supervisors want to bring forward. It is open to all supervisors, who attend on a voluntary basis. The group offers peer support and provides a basis for offering advice to the Research Committees of the university on matters relating to supervisory roles and experience.

2. Workshops

The university runs an annual series of tarining workshops for supervisors, under the guidance of Dr J'annine Jobling of the Arts & Humanities Faculty. The topics for this year's sessions have been worked out following feedback from the workshop which took place last summer.
