Research at Liverpool Hope University takes place across the range of disciplines - in humanities, sciences and social sciences, education, liberal arts, business and computer science.
There are a number of research areas of national and international excellence at Hope. In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), work assessed in the categories of Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies and Social Work and Social Policy & Administration and was described as showing ‘Quality that is world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour’. A number of submissions from Hope Departments were assessed as ‘...internationally excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour’, including work in the following areas - Computer Science and Informatics, Psychology, Education, English Language and Literature and Music.
