At Liverpool Hope University we aim to support Care Leavers throughout their time at University. We have a range of support services set up to help students make the transition into Higher Education. We also provide continuing support throughout the University experience, helping you to achieve success.
We understand Care Leavers to be young people aged 18-21 who have been looked after for 13 weeks or more since the age of 14, or young people who cease to be looked after / accommodated when coming to university.
However we understand that every student's circumstances are different and we consider all requests for additional support carefully. We also understand that as a Care Leaver you may not want or need additional support.
In addition to the support offered to every student, Student Development and Wellbeing will offer you:
If you are a current student and would like to discuss your situation further, or a student thinking about coming to Liverpool Hope, please contact Student Development and Wellbeing by telephone 0151 291 3274 or by email sdw@hope.ac.uk. We'll be happy to answer any questions and discuss any issues you have. In particular, we have a specialist welfare and benefits adviser who can help ensure you are receiving correct financial support.
Social Workers - please contact Student Development and Wellbeing for help and advice on helping / advising young people who wish to apply to university.
