The Support Service for Students with Disabilities is here to provide advice, guidance and support to all applicants and enquirers on all issues relating to your disability, medical condition and /or Specific Learning Difficulty.
Make contact as soon as you start thinking about university, it is never too soon to discuss any support that you may need.
- We can meet with you prior to your application to Liverpool Hope to discuss your choice of course and your support needs.
- We can assist you with your application for the Disabled Students Allowance (if appropriate) and we will liaise on your behalf with your Funding Bodies (Student Finance England, Student Finance Wales and Student Finance Northern Ireland) and we can arrange your Study Needs Assessment report through our Access Centre when your funding Body have given their approval.
- We will liaise, with your approval; with your local Social Services should you need a care package of support.
- We will liaise internally and externally with Clear Links Support Ltd regarding the provision of your support, this could involve referring you for note-takers and Dyslexia study skills tutors.
- We will write, with your approval, a Learning Support Plan detailing your support needs to ensure all staff are aware of your needs.
- We can request and formalise all reasonable adjustments that you need for assessments and examinations.
- We will maintain confidential records.
- We can liaise on your behalf with the Accommodation Department if you have any specific needs.
