At Liverpool Hope, we recognise that parents and guardians can play a huge role in supporting and guiding their children, as they embark upon life as an undergraduate student.

Accommodation
We have accommodation at the main Hope Park campus and also at Aigburth Park, our satellite accommodation campus, and at The Creative Campus, where the arts based courses are taught. Hope has a system of Senior Resident Tutors, Resident Tutors and Senior Students to support students living in Halls. Every Hall has at least one Resident Tutor, whose job it is to support the Hall’s resident students.

Finance
The amount each student spends each year depends very much on his or her lifestyle. A guideline would be to allow at least £8,000 per full calendar year for living expenses (in addition to tuition fees). This should allow your son or daughter a reasonable student life but does not include travel or the use of a mobile phone.Even if your son or daughter is receiving a loan, you might still choose to give them some extra financial help. It can be a good idea to agree the amount and times of payment in advance - this will also help them budget more effectively.

Student Life
When they first come to university, students are often faced with a completely different style of living and learning. At Hope, our students are adults and are treated as such. This means they must take responsibility for themselves and their own learning. The Data Protection Act means that the university is unable to disclose information about its students, such as grades, or finances.Adjusting to university life often takes time and effort, but there is plenty of help available! Students who have applied to Hope are encouraged to attend an Applicant Day, at which they and their parents or guardians can find out more about the university. During the day, sessions are run specifically for parents and guardians, giving them the chance to talk to staff from across Hope and ask questions.
