Dr Thanapong Chaichana is currently a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Computer Science at Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Liverpool Hope University, England, United Kingdom. Before that, he was a Research Associate at Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery, Department of Computing, Imperial College London, and Lecturer in Signal and Medical Image Processing at Rangsit University, Thailand. He received his BEng and MEng degrees in Electronics and Biomedical Electronics from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang, Thailand, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. He completed his PhD degree in Medical Imaging/Biomedical Engineering from Curtin University, Perth, Australia in 2012 and then followed by a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Medical Physics and Image Analysis at University of Leeds in 2013. His main research interests are in modern medicine for non-invasive imaging techniques using computational modelling and simulation to study human biomechanics and his speciality in computational fluid dynamics analysis of cardiovascular disease. He serves as special editor for Journal of Mechanics in Medicine and Biology and reviewers for grant funding and many journals in biomechanics, computation, simulation and imaging. He is a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (FSCCT) and Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (FRSocMed).
