I was a practitioner at Atlantic Chambers, Liverpool, and had a door tenancy at 5 Stone Buildings in Lincoln’s Inn, London. In this period, I was listed in Chambers Directory of the Bar as a ‘leading junior’ on the Northern Circuit in chancery practice (property law) for some 11 consecutive years (1992 - 2003).

In 1998, I joined Manchester Metropolitan University as a senior lecturer, teaching principally on MMU’s Bar Vocational Course (where I was also Associate Director). In 2004, I moved to Liverpool John Moores University and was module leader for Land Law, Business Law, ADR and Succession on LJMU’s LL.B programme, and also held the post of programme leader for LJMU’s LL.M in Legal Practice. In my time at LJMU, I coached the winning teams in the National Negotiation Competition 2008 (England) and the Inaugural Dubai International Mediation Competition 2013 (UAE).

I am one of the Bar Standards Board’s external examiners for the BPTC at City University, London and have considerable experience as an external examiner at post-graduate level at other London HE institutions.
