I am a part-time lecturer at this University as well as a  practising solicitor specialising in Criminal Law.

I originally spent 6 years working in a Civil practice until I  moved and  become a  partner in a city centre firm of solicitors . I was a partner for 12 years before I began lecturing here 4 years ago. I then became a Consultant in the same firm and I now prepare and run criminal trials every week.

I am also a Duty Solicitor, both in court and police stations in the Merseyside area with Higher Rights status which enables me to represent clients in the Crown Court.

I enjoy using this practical knowledge of both running a business and advising in legal matters-both Civil and Criminal- in my teaching . I aim to combine both the application of practical law and professional skills  with the academic in such a way that the students will obtain a working knowledge of law that will be both informative and useful both in the University and  in "everyday" matters.
