
I am a long standing member of the Hope family and was previously the Head of Sociology. I have an extensive knowledge and experience of all aspects of life at Hope and have been involved in a wide range of roles during my time at the University. I previously played a key role in Learning & Teaching at Liverpool Hope through my role as Director of ‘Unique Learning’, which focused on developing academic and vocational skills in the undergraduate community. I contribute to a number of undergraduate and postgraduate elements including Level C Health, Level I Health and Level H Health. My main academic interests are in the areas of Social Welfare and Social Policy, Globalisation, Sociological Theory, Media and Popular Culture and Social Change in Scandinavia. I have extensive links with partner institutions in India and I have lectured in the USA. I have made contributions to major sociology publications including Making Sense of Society and Theory and Practice in Sociology. I am currently the Senior Academic Advisor on quality matters for the Faculty of Sciences & Social Sciences
