Having worked in secondary schools for 15 years, working as a Head of Department and History subject mentor in my last school, I joined Hope in 2002 and have worked on the PGCE Secondary Course since then, becoming History co-ordinator in 2005. I am responsible for the organisation and development of the PGCE Secondary History course and the PGCE Primary and BA(QTS) History elements of these courses, whilst also teaching on the BA Education course and in other ITE areas. Holding an MA in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, I am now studying for my PhD, and am currently in my first year. My areas of interest and research are class management, learning History through external environments and the use of technology in History. I have presented papers at HTEN Conference (2010), PRHE Conference (2010), and ITTE Conference (2012).
