I am a Benedictine monk of the Abbey of Ampleforth. Prior to my appointment at Liverpool Hope I was for 14 years Master of St Benet’s Hall in Oxford. I now lectured on New Testament at the University and served as Chair of the Theology Faculty. During my career, I have written 20 books, more than 60 articles.
It is a great pleasure that my appointment at Hope forms a link with Hope’s past as Mgr Jones, who taught at one of the University founding colleges in the 1960s, led the team which produced the Jerusalem Bible in 1966. Later, I was General Editor of the New Jerusalem Bible, which was published in 1985.
