Pro Vice-Chancellor Bishop Ian StuartBishop Ian Stuart was appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Support & Well-being) from 1 November 2005.  This senior role, part of our re-positioning, emphasised  the University’s  commitment to providing the best possible student services.

Bishop Ian led the successful move and consolidation of some 10 services and 50 staff from across the Hope Park Campus to the new Gateway to Hope Building, opened by Archbishop Desmond Tutu in 2007. This now provides a functional and user-friendly 'one-stop-shop', where students can access the range of support services which in many ways make Liverpool Hope distinctive. It has also become a front door to the University.

From January 2011, Bishop Ian's SSW responsibilities were largely transferred to the new Dean of Students, Dr Penny Haughan. Bishop Ian has however retained oversight of our Halls of Residence and student residential life, as well as the Chaplaincy.

Bishop Ian is now undertaking special projects for the Vice-Chancellor, particularly in the area of outreach to Anglican Schools and Dioceses.
