Orientation

Our welcome/orientation programme is an essential part of your induction and orientation to the University and to Liverpool.  It is also a great way to meet new friends who are starting at the same time as you are and we strongly recommend that you attend.

You will also get to meet the staff who will support you during your studies and they will answer any of your questions.

The programme aims to help you to adapt to life at the University and to feel more at home.  It's a chance to get to know the campus and find out more about studying at the University and living in Liverpool.  The intention of the programme is to:

  • Give you time and space to start the process of adaptation to a new culture.
  • Assist you in meeting other new international students and to start to make friends.
  • Enable you to meet some key staff - particularly administrative and welfare.
  • Assist you with all necessary practical arrangements e.g. accommodation, shopping and banking.

We will also ensure you are familiar with all those practical things you need to know, such as:

  • Programme registration and ID cards;
  • Timetabling;
  • Registering with a Doctor (General Practitioner);
  • Registering with Police (if required);
  • Opening a UK bank account;
  • The Students' Union and societies/sport teams.

The January Orientation programme will be available very soon.
