The Capstone is part of Liverpool Hope University’s Creative Campus and comprises learning and teaching space, offices and business incubation space , as well as being home to The Capstone Theatre, Liverpool Hope’s dedicated performance venue, which provides an international music and arts programme throughout the year.
The Capstone is also home to Milapfest, the UK’s leading Indian Arts Development Trust, whose work aims to make a difference to people's lives through inspirational performances and educational experiences.
The Capstone is one of only six All-Steinway Schools in the UK. The Theatre is an acoustically excellent space housing a Steinway D Grand Piano, probably the best piano in the world.
Since opening its doors in March 2010, The Capstone Theatre has staged concerts and performances by leading national and international musicians and artists (Courtney Pine, Kathryn Williams, Oysterband and June Tabor etc) spoken word events (Roger McGough), Radio broadcasts (BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions?), Plays (Man with the Luggage, John Godber's Debt Collectors, Tennessee Williams The Glass Menagerie and Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard), Dance performances and Film screenings.
