Support for Care Leavers

At Liverpool Hope University we aim to support Care Leavers throughout their time at University. We have a range of support services set up to help students make the transition into Higher Education. We also provide continuing support throughout the University experience, helping you to achieve success.

What is a Care Leaver?

We understand Care Leavers to be young people aged 18-21 who have been looked after for 13 weeks or more since the age of 14, or young people who cease to be looked after / accommodated when coming to university.

However we understand that every student's circumstances are different and we consider all requests for additional support carefully. We also understand that as a Care Leaver you may not want or need additional support.

Extra Advice and Support

In addition to the support offered to every student, Student Development and Wellbeing will offer you:

  • Help in securing 365 day accommodation throughout your time at Liverpool Hope University;
  • Easy access to financial help and guidance;
  • A link between the University, you and your local authority, before and during your course;
  • Information about the various services that Liverpool Hope University offers;
  • A person you can simply chat to about anything you are unsure about.
