How We Can Help New Creative Businesses

Liverpool Hope is committed to fostering and supporting a culture of entrepreneurship amongst its students, alumni and creative partners.

The new Capstone Building for Music, Performance and Innovation, was completed in summer 2010, carries with it a remit to support new creative enterprises through supporting a range of activities from simply allowing alumni use of space and resources to support creative projects to hosting new businesses as tenants.

Hope’s newly established Business Gateway functions as a centralised one stop shop in relation to all enterprise and business related projects and initiatives. Through its new Gateway, and in collaboration with other organisations, such as North West Development Agency, Flying Start (National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship) and O2, Liverpool Hope has developed a number of new ways to help foster the development of new businesses, especially those in the creative and digital sector:

TheO2 Graduate Enterprise Award provided up to £10K funding and support for those wishing to establish viable businesses.

The newly established Certificate in Professional Development in Business and Enterprise in the Creative and Performing Arts allows creative people to receive academic credit for their creative practice whilst also providing academic credit for the development of a business plan to establish the creative practice as a viable business, using Hope’s facilities, staff expertise and other resources, based at the Cornerstone Campus.
