Lecturer/Post Doctoral Teaching Fellow in Food and Nutritional Sciences

Applications are invited for an outstanding candidate with a background in human nutrition and food science.  The successful candidate is required to have a PhD in an appropriate area of human nutrition or food science.

The posholder will be expected to teach on and further develop a broad food and nutritional sciences curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate level.  In line with this, applications are particularly welcomed from individuals who are who are able to contribute to the teaching of key aspects of food science and human nutrition.  This could include key principles of human nutrition (such as: nutritional biochemistry, life-course nutrition, prevention of nutrition-related diseases, and the use of nutrition in the management of disease) and/or key aspects of food science (such as food chemistry, food microbiology, food processing technologies, food product development, sensory evaluation, food safety, and food safety management).  The postholder must be able to contribute to a full range of teaching activities including laboratory-based practical sessions.  Applications are particularly welcome from candidates with practical food preparation skills (and are able to contribute to practical sessions involving recipe and food product development).

The post is Lecturer is permanent, subject to the normal probationary period of twelve months.

The post of Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow is a fixed-term appointment until 30th June 2022.
