Christ’s, Notre Dame, S. Katharine’s and LIHE Grand Reunion: 6th - 8th July 2018

Together with Clare Baker in the Alumni Office at Liverpool Hope University, I am organising a reunion weekend this July to celebrate the former colleges that came together as LIHE. I began at the original Christ’s College in 1979 and was there until 1983 in which time it transformed into Christ's and Notre Dame College and then into Liverpool Institute of Higher Education when it amalgamated with S. Katharine's College. Students who attended any of the institutions between 1978 and 1985 are invited to join us at the Hope Park Campus in Childwall for a reunion weekend.

On Friday 6th July we will host an informal gathering in the Halfway House on Woolton Road. Campus tours are available on Saturday afternoon or guests can jump on a bus from Taggart Avenue to visit the city centre where you will find plenty to see and do. The three-course gala dinner, commencing with a drinks reception, will be held in the University’s Eden Arbour Room (on the site of the old Derwent building) at 7pm. A disco will follow. Last orders at the bar will be 11.45pm. Each ticket for the gala dinner includes a small donation (£2) to the Student Scholarship Fund.

There are a large number of single occupancy, en-suite bedrooms on site which are separated into flats with shared kitchen facilities. Breakfast options for each day are specified on the booking form. Lift access is available for all rooms, however, if you have special access requirements please contact us on 0151 291 3219 before booking.

To book, please return the LIHE Reunion Booking Form and a cheque made payable to Liverpool Hope University. Alternatively, you can pay online at For information about local hotels and restaurants, please download the local Local Information . The deadline for booking is 22nd June 2018.  Please ensure you book prior to attending as we may not be able to accommodate you on the day. For purposes of accommodation, where possible, we will group friends together. Please indicate the names of those attendees, who you would like to roomed near, on the booking form.

If you know of any alumni who are not on our database could you please either pass on their details or ask them to get in touch with us at the Alumni Office on or 0151 291 3219. We hope that as many former staff members and students will be able to attend in July and we look forward to seeing you then. Should you wish to access further information regarding the event do feel free to contact Tony Threlfall on

With best wishes,
