Friday, 7 June 2019 , 5.30pm
Creative Campus

The School of Creative and Performing Arts will present work by students from Design, Fine Art, and Film and Visual Culture at the 2019 Degree Show.

Opening with a special preview event on Friday 7th June, the show will be open to members of the public from Saturday 8th - Tuesday 18th June, between 10am and 4pm.

The exhibition showcases degree work by final year students, and includes painting, sculpture, jewellery design, silversmithing, textiles and ceramics.

Each year the final year students of the Fine and Applied Art department host their Degree Show.

The exhibition showcases their degree work in Fine Art and Design including painting, sculpture, jewellery design, silversmithing, textiles and ceramics and is a culmination of their three years of study at Liverpool Hope University.

At Hope, Fine Art is about change, challenge, communication and application. It is about exploring individual creativity through visual possibilities in an increasingly context-aware, media-saturated and complex world. Fine Art provides the structure for the pursuit of individual creative experiences and endeavour, intellectual study and the fulfilment of creative potential. A full programme of two-and three-dimensional study, incorporating a variety of fine art media, is underpinned throughout by critical studies in contemporary and historical art.

Design deals with printed and constructed textiles, studio and industrial ceramics, interior and street furniture, objects for the interior, product design, silversmithing, jewellery and new digital technologies. The programme enables students to develop a visual and discerning understanding of the importance of design within a wide variety of specialist material areas relevant to their individual learning, personal development and future employment.

The University welcomes the public to witness the strength, courage, critical engagement and reflective decision making that makes up the everyday experiences of excellence in scholarship and academic engagement.
