Liverpool Hope University offers a professional and confidential student counselling service, supporting students with any personal issue(s) that may be affecting their ability to engage fully with their studies.
The service is based in the Gateway Building (First Floor) at the Hope Park campus and normally operates between 9am – 6pm. Counselling is offered by appointment only, although the service operates daily drop-in sessions for students in crisis who may require urgent support.
Student life can be very demanding both academically, personally and socially and there are times when students would benefit from the opportunity to address a problem or difficulty that is affecting their university experience.
Not all students who seek counselling have deep-seated problems - it is also a potential resource for those who want to reflect upon, or develop, some aspect of themselves personally, e.g. self-confidence, assertiveness or their ability to manage stress and anxiety.
Counselling also endeavours to enable students to come to terms with the ambiguities and problems of everyday living, and may provide an opportunity for them to increase their skills in interpersonal relationships with their peers and lecturers.
