Support Information, Volunteering Opportunities and Things to do over Christmas

Please be aware that the Student Counselling and Mental Health support services within Student Development and Well-being will close for the Christmas vacation period from Friday 17th December, reopening on Monday 10th January.   

Whether you decide to stay in the city over the Christmas period, or you're travelling back home, it's important that you look after your mental health and well-being. The following information highlights the support services and facilities that are available, along with some self-help tips and resources, faith events, and things to do across the city.

Support for Residential Students

Are you staying in halls over Christmas? Make sure you read the Residential Life support available to students in halls over Christmas document.

There is also information for Residential students who need to isolate over the Christmas period due to Covid-19.

Volunteering Opportunities

Some students may not have any plans over the Christmas period. Below are a list of organisations that are supporting members of the local community who otherwise wouldn’t have anywhere to go at Christmas. There are also a number of volunteer opportunities at these events if you wish to get involved.

• The Liverpool Dingle Project - Serving free meals to those who need them. Running on the 15th, 22nd, 29th December and 5th January.

• Imagine If Trust Christmas Day Meal – Serving a 3 course Christmas meal to the local community, along with family friendly entertainment, live music, games and prizes. For further information about attending or volunteering, please contact Stephen Robertson: stephenr@frontline.org.uk
