The guide below outlines what the University understands by academic misconduct, how suspected misconduct is investigated and the typical penalties.
Guide to Academic Misconduct
If you wish to appeal against a decision of a degree or progression Board, there are separate procedures to follow. These are outlined in the following guidance.
Academic Appeals Policy for students who are appealing decisions relating to the 2022/23. If you are receiving results relating to the academic year 2021/22 including postgraduate taught students being considered in November 2022 you should consult the 2021/22 Appeals process:
Academic Appeals Policy 2021/22
Please ensure you use the appropriate guide depending on the year your academic appeal relates to.
If, having consulted the guide, you think you have grounds for appealing against an academic decision you will need to submit a completed appeals form to appeals@hope.ac.uk within 10 working days of the publication of the Board’s decision. Please ensure you clearly indicate on your form which of the grounds for appeal apply to your case. The Academic Appeals Policy cannot be used to bring complaints related to teaching, supervision or services. These issues are considered under different procedures.
When preparing an appeal you may wish to take advice from a Senior Academic Adviser or from the Students’ Union
