The 2018/19 Study Abroad and Exchange Course Catalogue is now available - just click on the link to see our extensive list of 15 and 30 credit courses - choose any combination to make up the required 60 UK credits per semester of study.
Please note that the Semester Two courses start half way through the Catalogue.
A Liverpool Hope student will take 60 credits per semester, so make sure that your course choices reflect this credit load. Our courses are either 30 credits or 15 credits. You will join Liverpool Hope students for all of your courses.
ECTS credits are a numerical value allocated to course units to describe the student workload required to complete them. They reflect the quantity of work each course requires in relation to the total quantity of work required to complete a full year of academic study. In ECTS 60 credits represent the workload for a full academic year of study. Correspondingly 30 credits are normally given for a semester.
At Liverpool Hope a student completing a full year of academic study will gain 120 Liverpool Hope credits. The ECTS equivalent of any Liverpool Hope module can normally be calculated by dividing by 2 (1 ECTS credit = 2 Liverpool Hope credits)
Courses are available at all three undergraduate levels - Level C, Level I and Level H.
• Level C means it is a first year course, you can think of this as a Freshman year course
• Level I means it is a second year course, you can think of this as a Sophomore or Junior year course
• Level H means it a third year course, you can think of this as a Senior year course
Level C (first year) courses have more taught classes and will have a slightly easier assessment, whereas Level I (second year) and Level H (third year) courses may have less contact time, more emphasis on personal research and assessments that are more challenging.
