Capstone Theatre celebrates Brazilian culture at special film screeningTuesday 24 May 2016
A slice of Rio de Janeiro is coming to the Capstone Theatre as the Department of Social Work, Care and Justice host a film screening as part of the Brazilica Festival.
The International Samba Festival is an annual event held each July in Liverpool and is the largest celebration of Brazilian culture in the UK.
With an aim to promote the Brazilian culture and make it accessible to the wider public, the event features a street carnival from Friday 15th July to Sunday 17th July, followed by a film festival that runs until Friday 5th August.
Students from the Department of Social Work, Care and Justice are working with the Brazilian community in Liverpool and have teamed up with the festival to host a film screening.
The Capstone Theatre will host a 90-minute free screening of a music documentary exploring Samba in Rio and Jazz in New Orleans on Monday 18th July at 7.30pm.
