I work as an established contemporary maker and gallerist, specialising in jewellery and related Craft & Design alongside holding an Associate Lecturer position in Metalwork and Professional Practice at Liverpool Hope University. 

 

My practice was established in 1993 and I have launched many precious jewellery collections and sell and exhibit my work in over 40 international shops and galleries. During my time in business I have designed and made commissions for various prestigious companies to include The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam, and more recently the V&A, to name but few.

 

In my role as Gallery owner, I represents over seventy other established and emerging designer makers from cross disciplines within the Craft & Design and Fine Art & Photography sector I have an established virtual and bricks and mortar gallery in Birmingham’s renowned Custard Factory where I curate and exhibit 6 Craft and Design shows a year attracting international interest and custom.

 

My research interests and recent outputs centre around sustainable/ renewable precious materials and making in the Contemporary Jewellery industry, creative business growth & development and creative retail strategies combined with curating creative commercial exhibitions and marketing stratagems.

 

 I have received numerous awards for my design and my practice including this year’s ‘Contemporary Gallery of the Year 2020’ by Corporate Livewire in their Innovation and Excellence Awards alongside being granted an international endorsement title by the Marriott Hotels Group.

 

In 2019 I was awarded ‘Jewellery Designer of the Year’ and my gallery and professional practice was championed by ‘Visit Britain’ as a cultural reason to visit the UK.

Recent Works:

Currently researching and developing and curating over 6 curated contemporary design shows every 12 months to include collaborations with Birmingham City University, Birmingham Business and independent festivals both on a virtual and bricks and mortar platform.


2019-20 Over 400 private commissions to include international bids and commissions for clients in Sweden, New York, Boston & Dubai

2019 Makers Mark collection- A series of one- off re-worked graffiti inspired hand stamped jewellery, sold internationally.

2018 Equator Collection – Brand new series launched at The Spring Fair International reflecting on different coloured oxides originally developed for work commissioned by the V&A

2017 Bouble Collection- A series of experimental one-off pieces using re-claimed antique cut precious stones to the contemporary jewellery marketplace This brand new series was launched at The Spring Fair International reflecting on fusing new designs with heritage materials

2016 A series of pieces for Jean Cameron Bid director for the town of Paisley City of Culture Bids
