I graduated with a First Class BSc (Hons) Psychology from the University of Liverpool. In 2003 I was awarded a PhD from Liverpool John Moores University after completing a fully-funded full-time PhD studentship.  Currently I am a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Psychology and Psychology Undergraduate Programme Lead.  My areas of expertise include developmental and educational psychology. I am primarily interested the development of writing skills in the primary school years of education. However, my research interests also extend to understanding autism, socio-emotional development and teaching in the classroom. I also serve on the management committee for Global Hope, Liverpool Hope University's overseas education programme.
