Artist-scholar Dr Sarah Black is a dance lecturer at Liverpool Hope University specialising in dance and film installation practices, maternal and feminist ethics, Humphrey- Limon technique. She has developed an intergenerational mother-led artistic practice Mother as Curator, where she explores her own solo performance work and performing with her family set within their family home. Her performance work has been performed throughout the UK, internationally in France, Switzerland and New York. She is a principle researcher for Ceri Research project at Hope University. With Esther Wilson, Dr Black is the co-founder of the Mothers’ Day Project, and has organised academic and performance events dedicated to maternal and artistic strategies towards a peaceful conversation.
