Degree certificate
Formal University certificates are produced on bespoke paper with enhanced security features added and are the common format accepted by employers, educational institutions and immigration agencies as supporting documentation.
Your certificate will be provided to you free of charge when you graduate, either on the day of your ceremony if you graduate in person, or sent by post if you elect to graduate in absentia. Certificates are also provided free of charge and posted to those students awarded a Diploma or Certificate of Higher Education, or a Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate.
Please note that we are unable to send certificates to students who are in debt to Liverpool Hope University, until the debt has been paid. To discuss paying any outstanding debts, please contact the Finance Team on 0151 291 3339, or call into the Gateway Building.
Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)
From 2014, graduates completing a degree with Liverpool Hope University are automatically issued with an electronic Higher Education Achievement Report. Your HEAR Report will be emailed to you using your hope email account within six weeks of the date of your graduation ceremony.
The HEAR is an official paper document (extended degree transcript) which details your academic achievements, including your overall subject marks for all formal assessments you have undertaken and your aggregate marks for each course. It will provide information about your programme of study and additional achievements such as any scholarship or prizes you were awarded and any additional courses you took, such as the Service Leadership Award.
You can share your HEAR with prospective employers and with other Higher Educational Institutions.
Official academic Transcripts
If you require an official academic transcript before you complete your studies, you can order a copy from our Online Store. There is a charge each copy requested.
Please note that your transcript will only show confirmed results and therefore, provisional results for courses you are currently studying will not show.
If you are a Psychology student, and you need a transcript to confirm your eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society, or the Society’s Graduate Basis for Registration, please contact the Faculty of Sciences and Social Sciences by telephone 0151 291 3418 or e-mail psychology@hope.ac.uk.
During this process, you will be asked to provide the following information:
- Your full name at the time of your study
- Date of Birth
- Student ID number
- Full title of course
- Years of study (e.g. 2019-2020)
- E-mail address
- Contact telephone number
Requesting documents
During and after your studies you may be required to obtain copies of your qualifications and letters from the University, many of which can be ordered through our Online Store.
Please Note: Your order must be accompanied by a valid form of identity (e.g. copy of your passport, driving licence or birth certificate). If your name has changed since the time of your study, we will also require proof of your original name (e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate or deed poll).

Replacement certificates
A replacement certificate can only be issued where the original certificate has been lost or damaged. If you require a replacement certificate you can order a copy from our Online Store.
The cost of your replacement certificate will depend on the academic year of your study.
Those ordering a replacement certificate for two separate awards (e.g. BA, MA or PGCE) will need to pay the full charge for each item.
During this process, you will be asked to provide the following information:
- Your full name at the time of your study
- Date of Birth
- Student ID number (if known)<
- Full title of course
- Years Award Obtained
- E-mail address
- Contact telephone number
Your order must be accompanied by a valid form of identity (e.g. copy of your passport, driving licence or birth certificate). If your name has changed since the time of your study, we will also require proof of your original name (e.g. birth certificate, marriage certificate or deed poll). Please email proof of your identity to administration@hope.ac.uk.
Your document will be prepared and dispatched as per your instructions, normally within 2-4 weeks following the placement of your online order. Please note that during certain periods of peak activity (e.g. June, July, December and January) you may experience some delay.
Replacement Certificate (Students who graduated before 1995) University of Liverpool
Replacement Certificates conferred before 1995 were produced by the University of Liverpool. You will need to apply to their Student Administration Centre to request a replacement certificate. Certified copy of your degree certificate
Ordering a certified copy of your qualification certificate (a certified copy will be a photocopy of the original document).
There can only be one original certificate in existence at any one time. You can only apply for a certified copy of your qualification if you have the original copy in your possession. If you require a certified copy of your qualification you can order a copy from our Online Store
Ordering a Transcript or Diploma Supplement
A Transcript is your academic history. It lists the titles and marks of the subjects you studied in each academic year. The Diploma Supplement contains more detailed information about your programme of study

The cost of your transcript will depend on the academic year of your study.
WES (World Education Services) Transcript or Diploma Supplement
In order to process your application, the University requires a copy of your Academic Records Request Form with your WES Reference Number. Please scan this document on completion of your online order to administration@hope.ac.uk.
All documents and postage must be ordered and paid for by credit or debit card. You may request your copy (or copies) by using our Online Store.
During this process, you will be asked to provide the following information:

Bespoke letter for confirmation of award
If you require a bespoke letter confirming your award you can order your letter from our Online Store.
Your letter will contain the following detailed information:
- Degree title
- Mode of study (part-time or full-time)
- Dates of study
- Location of study
- Location of exams
- Face to face learning.
Please email any additional information (if applicable) that is not listed above to administration@hope.ac.uk. Please note not all requests can be fulfilled due to nature of historical data being archived. Whilst every effort will be made, there may be difficulties locating certain information to produce a letter.
Refunds will only be given if the order is cancelled before your letter is produced.
