Everton Park and the Creative Campus - Shaw Street

'Wildflowering' for natural and social gain - a field based event and indoor discussion led by expert speakers to explore the themes of public health, biodiversity net gain, culture and the role of the Museums sector, and the potential for seed as natural capital.

Event Coordinators: Paul Rooney (Liverpool Hope University and NW Section Convenor) and Richard Scott (National Wildflower Centre)

Partnering with the North West England Section of CIEEM and Liverpool Hope University, the National Wildflower Centre is pleased to bring ecologists, landscape architects, community activists, and a range of people together for an interdisciplinary debate and to experience one of the most stunning urban wildflower meadows in the country.

From 12:30 there will be a community pollinator count on Everton Park (meet at the Shaw Street entrance near the Creative campus of Liverpool Hope University), led by entomologists from Liverpool and Manchester.

The seminar discussion will be held on the Creative campus of Liverpool Hope University (room CAP009) and will start at 14:30 with interventions from Dr Alison Millward (Birmingham University), Richard Scott (National Wildflower Centre), Network Rail, the Mersey Forest, and cultural and environmental leaders from Liverpool and Manchester.

Themes to be explored are public health, biodiversity net gain, culture and the role of the Museums sector, and the potential for seed as natural capital.

From 16:30 there will be a walk / tour of the wildflower meadow in the adjacent Everton Park.
