FACT Liverpool and Hope's Center for Education and Policy Analysis (CEPA) are thrilled to bring you: FACT X HOPE Education in Shifting Landscapes, a multi-media lecture series spanning four events.

Bringing together artists, filmmakers, activists and academics, these free events think about how we learn about and understand the world, looking to alternative models of, and perspectives on, knowledge-creation.

The first of these, A Romale, A Chavale, is a hybrid lecture that brings the linguist, filmmaker and producer, Juice Vamosi together with a leading social work academic and author, Dr Dan Allen.

This will take place at FACT Liverpool on July 19 at 6pm. Free tickets can be booked using the link below.

Introducing excerpts from selected films and documentaries, Juice and Dan will highlight and discuss the specific challenges faced by Roma people living in Britain. After introducing the history and heritage of Roma people, contemporary issues related to family and child welfare will be considered.

Throughout the event, Juice and Dan will invite questions from the audience and draw on the films, documentaries, and some unseen footage, to consider ways to stand in solidarity with Roma people to help bring about fairness and justice.

After the lecture, there will be an opportunity to meet Juice at The Canteen at FACT, and talk to him about his experiences of producing films and documentaries with Roma people across Europe.
