The Walker Art Gallery is showcasing work by Liverpool Hope BA Design students, which explores the theme of History in the Making.
Objects from the Gallery’s collections inspired the exhibit, with a range of items dating from the 13th - 20th century grouped together around themes of ‘Identity’, ‘Communication’ and ‘Remembrance’.
Each of the second year students chose an object and created new work in response. In the exhibit, an image of the original piece sits alongside the new work, revealing what inspired the art and how objects from the past can influence modern day design.
The Walker Art Gallery exhibit will be on display until Sunday 12th May. More works from the History in the Making can be seen at the Cornerstone Gallery from 6th – 15th May.
