Dr Farzad Amirabdollahian, Assistant Head of School of Health Sciences and Associate Professor in Nutrition, has been elected to sit on the Association for Nutrition’s council.
Following a general election, Dr Amirabdollahian has been re-elected a Trustee, Council Member and Charity Director for another three years.
The Association for Nutrition is an independent regulator for Registered Nutritionists, assessing nutrition professionals to ensure they meet the rigorous standards for scientifically sound evidence-based nutrition and its use in practice.
The registered charity holds the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists, which is the only register of qualified nutritionists recognised by Public Health England, NHS Choices and NHS Careers.
Liverpool Hope University’s Single Honours Nutrition degree is accredited by the Association for Nutrition, which means that once students graduate, they are eligible to apply for registration as a registered Associate Nutritionist directly.
