The complex relationship between the European Union (EU) and cultural policy is explored in a new chapter published by Teaching Fellow Dr Kate Mattocks.

Uniting the nations of Europe? Exploring the European Union’s cultural policy agenda, is in part based on Dr Mattocks’ research in the Department of History and Politics.

Her PhD research focuses on cultural policy coordination in the EU and this topic forms a significant part of the chapter.

Published in The Routledge Handbook of Global Cultural Policy, an interview with the editors Victoria Durrer, Toby Miller and Dave O’Brien highlights Dr Mattocks’ contribution.

The Handbook explores how cultural policy has become a global phenomenon, bringing together a diverse range of researchers to address core questions of regulations, rights, development, practice, and global issues.
