Material from the Liverpool Hope University Carter Preston Foundation and Liverpool Cathedral archives has gone on display at a new exhibit in the City.

Works showcasing Liverpool artist Edward Carter Preston as a medallist and sculptor forms part of a series commemorating the Centenary of the First World War.

Edward Carter Preston was known for both painting sculpture and commercial design. Throughout the World Wars, he created commemorative plaques and medals for the fallen and their families. Carter Preston designed a bronze plaque known as the Next of Kin plaque, the RAF Cross and Medal, and The Distinguished Flying Cross.

He also crafted several sculptures in Liverpool Cathedral, alongside Dean Dwelly and Giles Gilbert Scott.

The exhibition is open to the public from 9 – 6pm daily, until Monday 8th October at Liverpool Cathedral.
