A new raft of graduate interns have joined the Hope community, gaining both valuable work experience and helping contribute to the University’s success.
Hope Internship Programme is jointly funded and supported by the European Social Fund and Youth Employment Initiative Funding. This year, the scheme has expanded to include interns working with local businesses across the Liverpool City Region, as well as at the Creative Campus and Hope Park.
Employability Placement Officer Sarah Goulden said: “Hope Internship Programme is an essential addition to the service that Liverpool Hope University offer to our students and alumni. With an increasingly competitive jobs market, the programme offers our alumni the opportunity to gain work experience in their field of interest at graduate level.
“The internships offer them real, professional experience that builds upon their knowledge and skills that they have acquired at Hope. Our graduates add to their CV and use the programme as a launch pad into successful graduate careers. This year we are hosting over 40 interns and we look forward to seeing the programme continue to develop and grow.”
Intern Elle Harker said: “The Internship programme was such a good fit for me. It stretched me both mentally and creatively, leading me to step out of my comfort zone and attain new and amazing skills that I can now offer new future employers.
“I think it’s a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in roles that recent graduate’s may have been unqualified for. Overall it has been a fun and deeply fulfilling experience.”
The interns are working across the Education, Science, Arts & Humanities, and Student Support & Wellbeing faculties, carrying out roles that include research assistants in the Science faculty, archivists in the library and events coordinator for Hope Social.
