A grant has been awarded to Senior Lecturer in Drama Dr Stephe Harrop to produce the third film in an educational series.

The Classical Association presented Dr Harrop with the funding for her latest short online film The Agon in Action, which is due to being shooting this summer.

Designed to help Classics teachers use drama-based exercises in their classroom teaching, the film series aims to enrich school and college students' understanding of ancient Greek plays.

Dr Harrop said: “The film is part of the Acting the Ancient World series, and will feature a cast of talented young actors, who have recently graduated from Liverpool Hope University's Drama programme.”

The first film in the series - The Messenger Speaks, has been showcased by The Institute of Classical Studies as an example of best practice in public engagement. It, together with its follow-up - The Chorus Experience, can be viewed online here.
